I used to lay awake for 3 hours, fall asleep for 30 minutes, then wake up, lay there for 2 or 3 more hours, fall asleep for 20 minutes, wake up again...all night, until the dreaded alarm clock started playing whatever song I'd set to sing. Feels terrible!
I dragged into work one morning, after another sleepless night, tired, edgy, disheveled, looking troubled actually, and my co-worker finally said something about it. At first, I was "in denial" about the situation. But it didn't take long, after the work-load began to look overwhelming, for me to acknowledge that I wasn't sleeping well.
And, to think of it, it feels good to know that someone cares. So I said, "I'm just really tired today. I didn't sleep well last night for some reason."
With that simple admission, help was easily obtainable. Just ask. The Help I needed was right there, in the person sitting next to me!
She told me about something that would be so easy, and most of the time, it's free!
There is a medium that has been used for centuries... to not only relax the human mind, it has been used to tame animals!
Music makes all the difference! It took less than 10 minutes to find the kind of music that would help me fall into a meditation of deep breathing & pleasant thoughts, which soon evolved into a relaxed state-of-mind that helped me to fall asleep, and what's more amazing...stay asleep!
I searched the available, streaming channels on my device, and in less than 10 minutes, the search lead me to soothing piano music.
